What is ID Protection?

When registering a domain, you're presented with the option for ID Protection. When someone looks up a domain name, they are presented with the WHOIS information, which includes your email address, telephone number, address and any other contact info required for registration. ID Protection will hide this information from those looking up the domain.

If you're registering a .ca domain as a Canadian Citizen, your contact information is automatically hidden thanks to privacy laws in Canada. If you are registering a .ca as a corporation, the identification information about your business is required to be displayed. You cannot purchase ID Protection on a .ca registration.
